Each node the query addresses carries the constraints, ordering, pagination, transforms, and projections the query states for it. The root carries the whole query as its drain. Collection queries need this factory: unlike the plain template that createFlake accepts, a query merges its criteria with its retrieval keys.
An empty-path binding (qest §5.8.1) projects each member itself. The root then carries the binding alias, so getFlakeProjection indexes the root under it and a grouped query uses the member as a grouping key.
